These Terms and Conditions form the basis of the trading relationship between StudyNet and you, our customer. It should provide you with all of the information you require regarding shopping with us, but if it is not able to fully answer your questions, please contact us at manager@studynet.co.uk and we will respond to you personally.

First-time Visitors
The first time you visit StudyNet and want to order a book, we create your Customer Account. You enter your personal information (name, address, phone, number, etc.) only once and then every time you return to the site to make a purchase, all you have to do is enter your username and password.  We retrieve all your personal information from our database.

Safe Shopping Guarantee
We back every purchase you make by credit card at StudyNet by our Safe Shopping Guarantee. We use encryption technology to keep your personal information safe and we do not release it to any outside organisation. Your contact and credit card information is transmitted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, provided through Verisign. This technology is the industry standard for secure online transactions. This 128-bit encryption ensures that your online transaction and credit card information are safe from third party interception. When you are placing an order through our secured web environment, you will see the lock icon on the bottom of your web browser will become locked (as opposed to un-locked). This ensures that your information is being processed in a secure environment. You can learn more about SSL at www.verisign.com.

Please note that in the event of unauthorized use of your card you should notify your card provider in accordance with their own procedures. Some credit card companies may hold you liable for the first £50 of any unauthorized use of your card.

Privacy Policy
At StudyNet we are committed to protecting your privacy. Be assured that we keep all personal information submitted to us in the strictest confidence.

When you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, delivery address, credit or debit card number and the card's expiry date. This allows us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of the status of your order. We also ask for your telephone number which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order. For some international deliveries this number may be given to our courier service.

Any personal information provided or to be gathered by StudyNet is controlled primarily by Studynet Limited and secondarily by WorldPay Limited, Units 270-289, The Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge. WorldPay are the payment provider for StudyNet Ltd

When you place orders or access your account information, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, as required by the UK Data Protection Legislation, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.

Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site transfers to your computer's hard disk for record-keeping purposes. The use of cookies is an industry standard, and many major Web sites use them to provide useful features for their customers. Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user's computer. The information we hold is stored in compliance with Data Protection legislation on a secure server and is only used to process orders from StudyNet. This information will not be released to anyone other than necessary to fulfill your order. We do not rent or sell your name, address, credit card information or personal information to any third party without your permission. However, we must cooperate fully should a situation arise where we are required by law or legal process to provide information about a customer.

Please note that the information you enter will be transferred outside the European Economic Area for the purposes of processing by StudyNet. StudyNet abides by the principles set forth in the Safe Harbor framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of data from the European Union. By using our web site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by Studynet Ltd. If we decide to change our privacy policy we will post these changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.

Our Guarantee
We guarantee the item you purchase will reach you in good condition.

If it doesn't arrive in a satisfactory condition or you do not want to keep it for any reason, please return the item to us (within 30 days of receipt) and we will replace or refund the full cost of the item.

Shipping and handling expenses are not subject to refund unless the item was damaged or we shipped you the wrong product. If so, we will absorb the costs to send you the correct item.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Please Note: In compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the personal details we require is the minimum information we need to process your credit card.

Cancellation
Under the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of any item within seven working days of delivery. You can cancel any item from your order, provided that we have not yet begun to process it. Please email us with your instructions and you will receive an e-mail confirming your cancellation.

Please note that orders listed as "import pending" cannot be cancelled, as they have already entered the despatch process. You can still return an item to us if it is too late to cancel it.

Delivery Methods
StudyNet can send to virtually any address in the world.

If your order is to be delivered to the United Kingdom, we offer the following delivery options.

  • Premium Service, which uses first class mail
  • Standard Service, which uses second class mail
  • Courier using Securicor's new PremiumPM service (which guarantees next day delivery between 1600 and 2100 hours, Monday to Friday only. Any order placed with us after 12:00 noon GMT on Friday may not be delivered until the following Tuesday evening.)

If your order is going outside the United Kingdom, you can choose to have it delivered by surface mail, airmail or courier. Surface mail is by land or sea to the destination country, and then by the local postal service. Airmail is by air to the destination country and then by the local postal service.

Delivery Charges
Delivery charges are calculated by the system depending on the option selected in your basket and are displayed on the order summary page on checkout. Free delivery is offered on all orders over £20 to addresses in the UK using the standard delivery method. Alternative delivery methods are available though these are chargeable at the normal rate.

Delivery Times
Many items on our site are readily available in our warehouse and we attempt to ensure that all orders of such items placed with us by 12:00 p.m. GMT Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) are dispatched the same day. Orders received after this time are processed on the next working day. Actual shipment or pick up is dependent on carrier cut-off times. The time your order takes to reach you varies according to the delivery method you select. In cases where we do not have an item in stock and have to obtain it from the supplier, then delivery takes a little longer. All delivery times are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed.

Customs Information
Customs forms for all international packages list the value of your order's contents as well as a description of the items.

If the order is a gift, the package is marked "gift” but the cost of the items is still stated on the customs form.

Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches the country of destination. The recipient must pay Additional charges for customs clearance; we have no control over these charges and cannot estimate what they will be. Customs policies vary from country to country and you should contact your local customs office for further information.

Availability of Goods
Occasionally items or books appear on StudyNet that are currently unavailable or out-of-print. An order that is not confirmed as a back-ordered item or is not confirmed as fulfilled within thirty days of the order is automatically cancelled. We then send you an e-mail stating that we are unable to fill the order. Your credit card will be refunded with any charges made on orders which cannot be fulfilled.

Returns
StudyNet will accept returns of items with a delivery note, within 30 days of purchase. If you have no delivery note, please return the item with a copy of the order acknowledgement email you received on placing your order. Returned items must be in resalable condition.

When returning items, please indicate the reason for your return on the reverse side of the packing slip and include the packing slip in the box. For your protection, you may wish to send your return via insured parcel post. Please send all returns to:

StudyNet cannot pay for return shipping charges unless we have made a shipping error. All returns, including any credits applied for return shipping charges, will be credited to your credit/debit card account. We will make every effort to process returned items within 7-10 business days. Please note that it may take 1-2 billing cycles for your bank to post the credit to your statement.

Payment Options
We accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards and Switch and Delta debit cards and all amounts are in £ Sterling. Payments are handled by our secure server and charged the next business day after the order is filled.

Please note that the charge on your credit card statement will appear under the name of Studynet Limited.

Invoices
We do not currently accept purchase orders since all orders must be pre-paid. If you are a school or corporate organization, please contact us at sales@studynet.co.uk to make special arrangements.

StudyNet Academics
StudyNet Academics is a loyalty scheme available to all educational institutions and corporate organisations. Upon registration, the participating organisation is provided with a registration number which acts as the account code under which all StudyNet Academics Points are awarded.

Points are awarded to an account for each purchase made which quotes the registration number on the basis of 1 point for every £1 spent. Awarded points can be used as a credit against further purchases made by the organisation against any current item within the StudyNet Catalog, with 100 points = £1. Registered organisations are provided with a quarterly statement of their account, each statement being generated in January, April, July, October. Points can be used at anytime and are valid for a period of two years from the date of award. Organisations can request their current balance at any time by contacting sna@studynet.co.uk.

Additionally, individuals quoting the account number of a StudyNet Academics registered organisation will receive a discount on their purchases, the discount will be displayed at the time of purchase. Points will also be awarded on the basis of the value of the purchase and added to the registered organisations total.

Please note that whilst a registered organisation will recieve a statement showing the total number of points awarded, these statements will not detail purchases made by individuals. In accordance with out Privacy Policy, above, purchasing information, including names, addresses and goods bought is held in the strictest confidence.
